Eastbourne Community First Responders

    Training provided to Volunteers

Initial training involves attending bi-monthly training meetings with the group to prepare you for the five day training course with the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).

This initial training gives you the opportunity to explore in more depth the role of a Community First Responder (CFR).  You will be expected to train in some of the basic life skills we use, alongside other members of the team.

After a suitable period, you will be supported in your application and interview with SECAmb for the post of Community First Responder.

After completing the SECAmb training, there is a short induction course and then you will start operating as a Community First Responder under the guidance of a Mentor.  When both you and the Mentor are confident that you can operate on your own you will be authorised to do so
